Message from the Board

"All of our achievements in 2023 demonstrate that we have gone through an impressive cycle of transformation at Yduqs. After a string of setbacks, we are once again receiving funding that matched the appreciation Brazilians have for our educational brands. We are performing well above the market, and we now have a group that is in control of its own destiny. Academic quality continues to grow, we remain ahead of the market in terms of the use of technology and we have never seen students, teachers and employees so satisfied and engaged. Throughout this report, the first Yduqs has produced in an integrated format, we have sought to provide an overview of this profound transformation we have promoted, the fruits we are reaping today and the fortunate position Yduqs finds itself in to continue promoting relevant, far-reaching impact for millions of people."

YDUQS INSTITUTE

GENERATING AND SHARING VALUE WITH SOCIETY

The Yduqs Institute coordinates Yduqs' socio-environmental responsibility initiatives. It deals with social development, environment & health and education projects.

The Rede de Valor Program is part of our effort to support the full education of students in the University for All Program (Prouni).

The program assisted units in the state of Rio de Janeiro on the Vista Carioca, Cittá América and Angra dos Reis (RJ) campuses in 2023. Rede de Valor benefited 128 young people and reached the milestone of 49 doctors trained with support from the program.

Initially focused on illiterate young people and adults, the initiative developed and applied an exclusive approach that enabled the full integration of these people into society. This effort helped boost the literacy of more than 1,300 people in 14 units spread across six Brazilian states.

SPORTS PLATFORM

For over 15 years, Yduqs and the Yduqs Institute have been committed to advancing national sport, combining social impact and integrity in managing their platform. Nearly 2,000 athletes and para-athletes, including undergraduates and graduates, received crucial support to make their career transitions in collaboration with the group's educational institutions, preparing to become qualified professionals.

To this end, the holding maintains exclusive partnerships with confederations, federations, clubs and institutes linked to sport, including the Fernanda Keller Institute, Guga Kuerten Institute and the Brazilian Olympic Committee, in addition to the Brazilian Paralympic Committee.

Elas no Esporte (Women in Sports)

This is an initiative that has assembled national celebrities such as Rebeca Andrade, Lais Souza and Fernanda Keller. The meeting, held at Estácio's Nova Iguaçu Campus, hopes to encourage debate about the role of women in the sports segment. Over 400 students were provided the opportunity to learn more about the Yduqs Institute’s visions and the importance of sport as a complement to the educational process and the formation of citizenship.

STUDENTS WHO TRANSFORM THEIR COMMUNITIES

All Estácio and Wyden campuses have extension programs that promote community engagement, impact assessments and local development that are based on the needs of the communities. Many of these initiatives have synergy with the courses offered at each location, such as Law, Psychology, Accounting and Health.

Each unit has the autonomy to implement activities suited to the profile of nearby communities. The campuses are also in demand by a number of institutions, providing services through courses such as Nutrition, Nursing, Physical Education, Physiotherapy and Medicine, and others.

Working together, students and teachers participated in initiatives that benefited around 600,000 people living in the vicinity of the campuses. These were ongoing extension and social outreach projects providing guaranteed pay for the teachers and opportunities for students to link theory and practice.

MONITORING AND REDUCING EMISSIONS

Yduqs assumed ESG goals linked to the consumption of renewable energy and the management of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

In 2023, Yduqs became a Carbon Neutral company. The holding chose to invest in renewable energy through the acquisition of carbon credits, offsetting a total of 6,895 tons of CO2 equivalent in two specific projects: the Porto do Delta wind farms, located in Piauí, and Santa Clara, in Rio Grande do Norte. The compensation certificates, also known as “Carbon Credit Retirement”, were issued by an official United Nations (UN) platform and are internationally recognized by the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).

This compensation is related to the inventory of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for 2022. In 2023, Yduqs was included for the first time in the Public Registry of GHG Emissions; the credibility of its inventory was attested with the achievement of the Gold Seal of the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program.

Mobility Support | Through its sponsorship of Tembici, Yduqs is supporting a bicycle sharing project in some capitals in Brazil, promoting active and sustainable transport in cities. The stations were strategically positioned based on research conducted by Tembici urban planners in conjunction with municipal experts. In the future, more points will be added, making it easier for students to get around. In Belo Horizonte, the system will be completely electric, the only one in Latin America, with 500 electric bicycles in 50 stations, driving sustainable innovation.
