Environmental and Climate Change Policy: a new milestone in our Sustainability Journey

Rio de Janeiro, September 29, 2025 - Yduqs has just launched its new Environmental and Climate Change Policy, a document that reinforces our commitment to sustainability and shows how all our areas, employees, suppliers and partners must act from now on. This initiative is part of our Sustainability Strategy 25–30 and brings together guidelines that had already been applied in our units. Now, these guidelines will apply in an integrated way to the entire company.

This policy was created following current environmental laws and is connected to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It defines the main themes that guide our actions to take care of the environment. Among the highlights are: prevention and reduction of environmental impacts, conscious use of natural resources, energy efficiency, focus on renewable sources, water efficiency and less waste.

Other important points include the care with solid waste, encouraging recycling and reuse, the control and reduction of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions (with an inventory audited annually), the compensation of 100% of the remaining emissions and the expansion of Scope 3 measurement, seeking alignment of our goals with the SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative), an international initiative that guides companies to establish emission reduction targets based on climate science, ensuring that their actions are in accordance with the limits defined by the Paris Agreement.

We are also committed to promoting environmental education throughout our network of partners and suppliers, in addition to encouraging research and innovation projects to fight climate change. The policy respects Human Rights and protects traditional communities, such as Indigenous, riverside and quilombola people, enriching climate justice.

“With this new Policy, we reaffirm our commitment to the mitigation of environmental impacts and strengthen our Sustainability Strategy. But, more than that, we take an important step in the consolidation of a robust and participative governance, which mobilizes leadership and engages the organization. We are building the bases of an increasingly responsible culture, connected to the challenges of our time and to our greater purpose: educating to transform.”
 — Cláudia Romano, Vice President of Yduqs and President of Instituto Yduqs

One of the central points of this policy is the reinforcement of our commitment to the Net Zero Ambition Movement, of the UN Global Compact, which seeks to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. For this, we continue to carry out the annual emissions inventory with external audit, we work to reduce Scopes 1 and 2 and to increasingly expand the quality and measurement of Scope 3, working more and more on the engagement of our value chain.

The policy also foresees climate adaptation plans, which help to identify vulnerabilities and to prepare our operations for extreme events and changes in regulations.

Another highlight is governance. The policy also reinforces the monitoring by the Board of Directors and ESG Committee of the progress of environmental and climate goals. This ensures that these actions are linked to our strategic planning and risk management. In addition, ESG goals are part of the variable compensation of executives and important areas, reinforcing the role of the climate agenda within our sustainability strategy.

The document also brings specific guidelines for social and environmental actions, protection of biodiversity, appreciation of traditional communities and strengthening of climate justice. To transform all this into practice in daily life, training and capacity building are planned for all employees. In this way, sustainability becomes part of corporate routines, classrooms and each Yduqs unit.

“By launching this Environmental and Climate Change Policy, we reinforce that our responsibility goes far beyond the maintenance of physical structures: we are shaping more resilient, efficient spaces aligned with global commitments to climate. It is gratifying to be part of a truly engaged team, that wears the company shirt as a forerunner agent in the transformation of asset management into a force of positive environmental impact, where efficiency, innovation and sustainability walk together. This milestone challenges us to go beyond compliance. We are following a genuine and purposeful path, in which each strategic decision becomes a true transformative power. Because there is no competitive future without climate commitment", Anderson Nogueira, Real Estate and Facilities Manager
