Yduqs launches Human Rights Policy, reinforcing commitment to ethics and inclusion
Rio de Janeiro, December 10, 2024 – On International Human Rights Day, established by the United Nations (UN) to emphasize the importance of guaranteeing fundamental rights, Yduqs has taken a decisive step in its ESG strategy. The company is officially launching its Human Rights Policy, underscoring a strong commitment to fostering an ethical, inclusive, and responsible environment across all operations and its value chain. Additionally, Yduqs reaffirms its mission to educate, transform, and create a positive impact beyond the classroom.
Built upon widely recognized international standards, such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and aligned with Brazilian legislation, the new policy establishes clear guidelines to prevent, mitigate, and remediate potential negative impacts related to human rights.
"The Human Rights Policy reflects our purpose of transforming lives through education and respecting the dignity of all individuals. We are committed to promoting inclusion, equity, and responsible practices at every level of our operations while positively influencing the entire value chain," says Joice Portella, ESG Manager at Yduqs.
The Pillars Supporting the Policy
The Yduqs Human Rights Policy addresses critical topics, including:
- Transformative Education: A commitment to democratizing access to education, providing opportunities for development and employability.
- Diversity and Inclusion: Promoting a workplace that respects and values all individuals, eliminating barriers and discriminatory practices.
- Respect for Working Conditions: Ensuring ethical, safe, and healthy relations, with a focus on the well-being of employees and partners.
- Combatting Forced and Child Labor: Adopting zero tolerance for any form of exploitation within its operations and value chain.
- Female Empowerment and Gender Equality: Establishing public targets to increase female representation and ensure pay equity.
Impact on Internal and External Audiences
For internal stakeholders, the policy will serve as a guide for conduct, promoting continuous training and strengthening a culture of respect and inclusion. Employees, suppliers, and partners will have access to training and tools that reinforce the company’s values. Externally, Yduqs strengthens its position as a socially responsible company, enhancing relationships with communities, clients, and stakeholders.
"Our goal is to positively impact people and create shared value by promoting ethical and sustainable practices. We aim to leave a legacy for future generations, fully aware of our role as an educational company in this mission," emphasizes Cláudia Romano, President of Instituto Yduqs and Vice President of Yduqs.
Channels for Dialogue and Transparency
The policy’s implementation includes enhancing the Confidential Channel, available for employees, partners, and communities to report potential human rights violations securely and anonymously.
Moreover, Yduqs will annually disclose indicators and results related to the commitments outlined in the policy through its Integrated Report.
The launch of the Human Rights Policy reaffirms Yduqs' mission to act as a transformative force in society. Employees and partners are invited to join this journey and contribute to building a more just, equitable, and sustainable future.
