As one of the largest education groups in the country, we are leaders in environmental education and have one of the most complete management programs on the subject. In the coming years, we aim to impact 2 million people with environmental education content and promote clean energy research projects.
In our operations, we seek to reduce our activities impacts on the environment, with updated and compliant environmental management practices, focusing on saving natural, energy, and material resources. Strategic guidelines guide this work, including eco-efficiency actions, selective collection, and waste generation reduction.
We know that climate change is a global challenge and are doing our part for a positive agenda. In 2023, we developed numerous initiatives. After prepared the 2022 Greenhouse Gas Inventory, we submitted it for an independent verification audit, which made it possible to be part of the Public Emissions Registry, reaching the highest level of excellence in the program; thus, we obtained the Gold Seal of the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program. Finally, in line with our ESG Goals, we offset the total CO2e emissions (Scope 1 and 2 of the 2022 inventory) generated by our activities, investing in two renewable energy projects associated with the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).
In this way, Yduqs positions itself as a Carbon Neutral company, reinforcing the commitment to neutralize CO2e emissions.
Strategies and sources of value:
- Leaders in environmental education, with one of the most complete management programs on the subject.
- Indicators on gas emissions.
- Distributed electricity generation program.
- Years of practice in waste management and circular economy.
Follow our progress on the environmental agenda:
2020
We completed a Distributed Generation project, with the installation of a solar plant in the state of Rio de Janeiro, with the capacity to produce 190 MWh/month.
2021
We started the greenhouse gas emissions inventory with a focus on key activities, covering direct responsibilities (Scope 1) and indirect responsibilities for electricity (Scope 2).
2022
We strengthened controls with Scopes 1 and 2 and expanded this process to measure the indirect emissions of our value chain (Scope 3).
We launched our 24 ESG goals, six of which are related to the environmental dimension, meeting 3 SDGs. One of them is to impact two million people with environmental content.
2023
For the first time, our Greenhouse Gas Inventory was audited by an external partner and registered in the RPE, achieving the Gold Seal of the PBGHG Protocol.
We impacted almost 300 thousand students with environmental content and implemented 10 clean energy projects in our HEIs. Furthermore, we became a carbon-neutral company.
